It is that time of year, Musikfest is here! I’ve actually been attending Musikfest since I was a young girl when I would come to help my grandmother sell crafts at the Busyworker’s sale. Now, I’m living here in the midst of the fest and it’s so cool to be able to experience it as an adult.

This year, I was lucky enough to be accepted into the influencer program through ArtsQuest (yay me for working my butt off) and got to help promote the fest and, specifically, the Chainsmoker’s concert. IT WAS AWESOME!

With all the pics covering my experience, I wanted to make sure I got to answer all of your questions, so here it all is. As always, please feel free to shoot me a message if you still have q’s! xx

What’s the overall vibe of Musikfest?
The fest has a super interesting layout. It is parceled out into different chunks by location and theme. So there is a ‘platz’ for comedy, shows, family activities, etc. The North side has the Wells Fargo Platz which has a ton of food options, free shows, and so much more. The main street is also closed off to pedestrians, which makes it nice to shop and explore the town.
Overall, during the day it is really accessible for everyone: individuals, couples, families, kids, adults – everyone. Towards the evenings, certain areas feel like they are more geared towards adults because of the drinking. It is NOT like a Coachella or Lollapalooza in terms of dress or crowd. There are people from all ages, backgrounds, races, etc. and flower crowns and neon clothes are not necessary.

What’s the deal with the mugs?
Every year a new mug is designed for Musikfest, so a lot of people treat them like collector’s items. Besides the style points you get for having one, they’re a staple at the fest because you take them to booths and restaurants where you refill them with beer or other beverages. Last year I bought a light-up mug! They’re sold for $10 and they’re great. However, don’t try to use a crazy straw with it. It isn’t worth it, I already lost mine.

How did you get to be a Musikfest Influencer?
THAT’S WHAT I KEPT ASKING MYSELF!!! But seriously, someone reached out to me and I had to apply. A lot of opportunities like this come around when you are super involved in your community and you have a track record of mobilizing people to attend events, try new products, or rally together for a cause. I’m excited about this opportunity because it actually isn’t just a Musikfest partnership, but a group of people that were selected to partner with other ArtsQuest events in Bethlehem. So cool!

Talk to me about your fest fashion.
I really had no idea what I was going to wear because this whole thing totally sprung up on me, but I’ll walk you through what I wound up with. The one thing I did plan was getting my hair done up in festival braids/buns at Meraki Beauty in Allentown. It was $75 (plus a little extra for the glitter) and it was so smart because it has been so hot and I loved not having to fuss with my hair in the heat. Plus, it looked AMAZING. I went with a bralette (too hot for sticky bras!) and a light-weight top paired with a bright colored skort. If you don’t wear skorts, I don’t know how you live. I love the versatility and functionality. A crossbody is important for your cash and cards, and I’m just on a roll wearing my Chanel gladiator sandals everywhere even when it’s impractical so… That’s that! You can check out more pics on my Instagram.

If you’re on the fence for this year, don’t be! There are so many fun things happening and free shows and activities to keep you busy. Check out more info at the official website here and let me know if I’ll see you at the fest!
