Andrew and I love a good documentary or series on Netflix to binge-watch. Especially in this cold weather, it’s nice to just curl up on the couch and not have to go out in the cold. I pulled together a few of our favorite things we’ve seen on Netflix below as well as a bomb round-up of my favorite throw blankets to snuggle up in. There are a few more snow days left in our future here on the east coast, so let’s make sure we make the most of them!
A Gray State – This documentary is super eerie and I honestly was a little freaked out going to bed after watching it. It is a real documentary that covers the story of a man who had served in the US military and became a filmmaker. His film was going to focus on what our country would be like if it devolved into a police state. I’m terrible at summarizing this because I don’t want to give anything away, but I could barely breathe throughout most of this. It hits close to home with the current political environment and it’s a pretty intense story. It’s even weirder when you remind yourself that it’s all real.
Bloodline – This is a series that Andrew and I got sucked in to. It follows the story of a family that has way more problems than your own, trust me. With a ton of bizarre twists, you’ll see how familial bonds are tested and stressed through difficult times. It turns out there is a point at which even blood isn’t strong enough of a bond to save someone.
Grace and Frankie – Ok, so this isn’t something Andrew and I watched together. I’ll be honest, this is something I watched on my own because it cracked me up. Light, hysterical, and full of relatable moments, this is how I envision myself as an elderly woman. If only I could be so lucky!
Narcos – This was a definite favorite in our house. It is a drama set in Columbia that follows the true story of Pablo Escobar and his drug trafficking business. The plot definitely pulls you in and it’s action-packed. Totally binge-worthy! Plus, the music reminds me of our honeymoon in Mexico which makes me happy.
It might only be Tuesday, but it’s never too early to start planning your weekend, am I right?
