FAQ*
where did you go to school?
I studied Public Relations at Drexel University’s Pennoni Honors College in Philadelphia, PA and went back for my master’s in nonprofit management. I also took an Organizational Leadership certificate program through Harvard Business School Online and absolutely loved it! At Drexel, I really enjoyed living in the city and getting to experience all of the rich culture and history in Philadelphia. 10/10 would do it all over again, I really can’t recommend Drexel enough!Â
what do you do now for your job?
I have done a LOT since graduation, and I feel so fortunate to have been able to continue to explore my field through numerous different perspectives. I began my career at a for-profit incentive company where I built a great foundation of knowledge on how to motivate employees and fuel productivity. I went on to learn fundraising at my high school alma mater working in the Office of Alumni and Development. From there, I left to get a for-profit experience dealing with philanthropy as an Events and Philanthropy Lead for the Philadelphia Region of Kendra Scott. It was the absolute best experience and I had the luxury of working under incredible managers. After that, I used all of my experience to build out a really successful annual fund program at a local nonprofit in my community as their director of advancement. I felt as though I might have achieved my dream job, but ultimately chose to leave due to a negative work environment. So now, I am running my own business and working at a local healthcare nonprofit.
how can i shop the styles you post?
It’s honestly SO easy, just click here and get shopping! Another easy way to shop all of my looks is to follow me on the LikeToKnow. It app! There are so many times that I don’t think to link something or forget to share, so please feel free to shoot me a DM on Instagram if you’re looking for something that I haven’t posted.
how do you get products to try out?
I participate in a couple influencer programs that will send products for testing and reviewing purposes. I will ALWAYS let you know in a blog post or instagram photo if a post is sponsored or if I’m trying out a gifted product. I think the most important part about blogging is maintaining a genuine voice and being honest – because of this I always provide my candid opinion of a product and I’m really selective about what companies and brands I choose to collaborate with. My favorite program to participate in is Influenster, it’s SO fun to get to try out new products and share your feedback. Plus, anyone can sign up to get involved and it’s free! Click here to join me (and get free stuff to review)!
do you make money off of your blog?
Honestly, not really. But, I do participate in a few affiliate programs which means that when you make a purchase off of my site I might make a small commission. This is another reason why I only link products and styles that I truly trust and believe in, because I don’t ever want to give ya’ll bad advice!
tell me about this ebates you always are talking about…
Ebates is seriously the coolest thing I’ve ever come across! It’s free, easy, and legit. Click this link to sign up for an account. Make sure you activate the program when you’re doing online shopping. With Ebates activated, a little box will pop up on your screen to tell you the percent you will receive back in cash on your purchase! If you link your Paypal account to your Ebates account, you will receive your cash back check quarterly! Some purchase might only yield a few bucks in cash back, but when you book airline tickets or purchase large electronics, I promise you’ll see those bucks add up! I’ve already made more than $500 in cash back just off of purchases I was already going to make! SO EASY! Join me in making money just by shopping, click here!
can we collab??
Yes! I would love to! I love to partner with companies and brands that are like-minded. I am always particularly interested in supporting fellow female entrepreneurs in their businesses – every little girl deserves a strong, intelligent, motivated woman to look up to.
how do you and andrew handle the medical school/residency schedule?
It all works out, I promise! Ever since I started blogging, I have gotten so many questions about how we handle our time, what it’s like to date a medical student, how we keep clear communication, etc. It can be a difficult journey, and it probably isn’t for everyone. But, it’s our life and it really is all possible. However, I know what it’s like to be in your shoes and looking for some gal pals and solid advice. That’s why I started my Married to Medicine section to help cover some of those topics related to Andrew’s medical school/residency journey. I hope you’ll check it out, and please feel free to send me a note at any time to let me know what topic you’d like to see me cover next!
