While the students were on spring break my office got painted (!!) This gave me the best opportunity to redecorate, which I love to do. So, out with the old and in with the new! The fresh color was the perfect backdrop to a fun DIY I have been waiting to do for a long time, and it only cost $6! Here’s how you can do it to:
1. Get your Lilly art ready! A long time ago, I had ordered free swatches from the Shade Storeof the Lilly Pulitzer fabric. This is what I used in my project, but you can always use pages from your old planner or even print images off of Google Images onto photo paper through CVS. Click hereif you want to order your free swatches for the project.
2. Go to your nearest Michael’s craft store and shop their wood section for these square frames.Or, you can always order them online! These frames are only $1 a piece!Â
 3. Pick up some white craft paint. I used this super standard acrylic paint for 70 cents, but you can always opt for something with a higher gloss or fuller coverage.
4. Paint your frames! I did about 2 coats of paint on each and let them dry overnight.
5. Save the cardboard inserts and use as backing behind your fabric swatch or printed image when you put them in the frame.
6. Hang them on your wall and be super happy that you only spent $6.70 on this awesome art! I hung mine with thumbtacks, but they’re so light that you can also use command strips so you won’t leave a trace on a fresh wall.Â
Have fun with your DIY project and tag me in your pics, I would love to see how you decorate!
