The Lilly Pulitzer Samples and Seconds Sale is in full swing today, are you ready? Perhaps you’ve been one of the many camped outside of the warehouse, or maybe you’ve already gone in and come out with all of your goodies. Regardless, this is just one warehouse sale among
Unfortunately, chances are you aren’t shopping smart and it’s not your fault. You just need a couple tips, and it might surprise you to find out that they have very little to do with the shopping part of things. Mainly because swiping your card and sweating out your next bill doesn’t require instructions.
Dress appropriately.
You should have shoes that are easy to kick-off and slip back on. When it comes to undergarments, think about the beach. In theory, you should always have access to a dressing room and you really shouldn’t be changing in the middle of a warehouse. HOWEVER, if you are going to be changing in the middle of a room with a ton of other people, at least wear something that provides a lot of coverage as if you were on a beach. In public. If you wear luxletic leggings and a loose tank, you’re easily able to change and try things on, plus you can pull things on over your clothes instead of having to strip down in public.
Don’t bring a purse.
All you need is a crossbody with the essentials: cell phone, cash, plastic.
Use your manners.
This probably seems obvious, but butting in line and being overly aggressive just to get what you want doesn’t make you any friends. It’s always better to be nice and make friends.
Prioritize
Know what you want and what other people want. If you have a fave item that you’re searching for that is a favorite of others as well, you better get to that first. Leave the common items for last because you will likely be the only person searching for those.
Team Up
A sale is only fun if you go with friends. You can work with each other to make sure you find what you need, and four eyes is better than two! So don’t sneak off to shop, make a date out of it and have fun with your friends!
Prep Your Plastic
Pay off your bill and get ready. These sales don’t do cash, so you’re going to need to use your plastic. If you can, opt to use a card that will get you cash back or points for your purchases. It’s a good way to capitalize on your spending.
Fuel Up
It’s not just about eating well, but also about staying hydrated. If you are truly in a warehouse setting, pop an Advil in advance. There will likely be music and you will likely be doing math in your head. Both of these things will likely lead to a MAJOR headache. If possible, plan a post-sale coffee debriefing with your bestie to relish in your good deals and relax.
It’s always good to get a deal, so get out there and happy shopping!
